At Athena and Athineon Hotels, we are entirely focused on creating amazing experience and memories for guests who we always see as Friends and Family members.

As always Health and Safety is a priority for us and now more than ever in the light of the COVID-19 situation we would like to inform that the management is focused on Health and Safety of all our staff members and guests and have everyone’s wellbeing in heart.

Over the last 30 years both our Hotels’ guiding principle has always been to care about our guests as our own family. As we all say “we welcome you as guests but you depart as Family members” we are close friends and we all care for each other. Today, more than ever, this core value guides all of us into responding to the new coronavirus, by taking all the necessary precautionary measures in order to protect you and our “family”.

It is clearly a unique and severe challenge that evokes, naturally, uncertainties and anxieties. But I want you to know that we are continuing not only to monitor but also react to the situation, being steadfast in our determination to providing all our guests, partners and employees with the utmost level of safety so that you can travel with confidence. Therefore and in line with the Greek Government regulations and international travel advises we have decided to postpone our opening date for both hotels until the 1st of May 2020. Early November has been amazing the past couple of years in Rhodes and we encourage many to travel in early November. We are looking forward to welcome you at your “home” away from home as we all say about our hotels. Your second “Family” will be here to welcome you and spend amazing time once again.

Further more we would like to offer some advice based on the facts posted by Wrold Health Organisation and the Greek Health Organisation

How is COVID-19 transmitted?

COVID-19 can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth when a person with COVID-19 is coughing or sneezing and through contaminated objects and surfaces around the person. People can catch COVID-19 by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth.

How long is the incubation of COVID-19?

The incubation period for COVID-19 ranges from 1-14 days, most commonly around five days. These estimates will be updated as more data become available.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever and cough. Other symptoms include aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people may be asymptomatic. Approximately 80% of people recover from the disease without special treatment. Around 1 out of every 6 people with COVID-19 develop severe disease. Elderly, and people with underlying medical problems such as high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness.

What protective measures are recommended for COVID-19?

  • Regularly and thoroughly washing hands with soap and water or cleaning hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash.
  • Maintaining at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Covering mouth and nose with bent elbow or tissue when coughing or sneezing and immediately disposing of the used tissue.
  • Staying home when feeling ill. When symptoms such as fever, cough and difficulty breathing develop medical attention should be sought after calling and reporting the symptoms.
  • Staying aware about the latest COVID-19 situation.

The guidelines of the local national public health authority should be followed.

Until your next visit stay safe and keep in mind we will be here looking forward to welcoming you soon back to your “home” away from home and we encourage you not to cancel your holiday but simply modify your travel dates.
